Privacy Policy
This document informs about the manner, extent and purpose for collecting, using and processing personal information by the provider of this service (see contact information). The legal framework for data protection may be found in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German "Bundesdatenschutzgesetz" (BDSG) and the German "Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz" (TDDDG). The provider is the responsible party for all concerns related to data protection. Please be aware that hardware and software involved in the use of this website may exhibit vulnerabilities, which is why complete protection against third-party access to transferred data cannot be ensured. We will not grant to any third party access to your personal information that is stored in our system, except when required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to, at any time, withdraw your explicitly granted consent to the processing of personal data and object to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, market research and opinion surveys. Further, you have the right to have incorrect personal data corrected and to have your personal data deleted, where such claims are not barred by any legal obligation to retain this data. You can also request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. Additionally, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning yourself, which we process by automated means based on your consent, in a commonly used machine-readable format. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us (see contact information). If you think that we are violating your data protection rights, you can file a complaint with your competent supervisory authority.
Legal basis of data processing
The following applies to the processing of personal data, as described in this privacy policy, of users who use our service from within the European Economic Area (EEA): The legal basis for the storage of information on the user's device and its retrieval is consent pursuant to German law TDDDG § 25 para. 1. According to German law TDDDG § 25 para 2 No. 2, consent is not required if the storage of information or access to information already stored is absolutely necessary for the provider to provide a service expressly requested by the user. Which processing operations are classified as absolutely necessary and thus do not require consent can be found in the consent dialog. The legal basis for the downstream processing of personal data is derived from the GDPR: If we ask for your consent, then the legal basis for this processing is GDPR article 6(1)(a). Otherwise, we process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest (i.e. interest in the detection and correction of errors in our service, the optimization of the user-friendliness and performance of our service, the economic operation of our service and the protection against attacks, sabotage, manipulation, misappropriation and their legal prosecution) according to GDPR article 6(1)(f).
Server log files
For each access to our service, the following data is recorded in our server's log files:
- your IP address
- date and time of the access
- URL of the page that you visit
- HTTP status code
- length of the response sent by the server
- page that linked you to our site (referrer URL)
- type and version of the browser you use
- operating system used
You can minimize data transmitted by using a browser plugin for improved privacy. We require this data for the following purposes:
- statistical evaluation (e.g. percentage of users by country, device type, browser or referrer URL)
- optimization of our service and correcting mistakes (e.g. finding dead links or faulty scripts/configurations)
- acting against attacks on our service or abuse of our service
IP addresses contained within the log files are anonymized after at most 7 days by removing the last 8 bits for IPv4 addresses and the last 80 bits for IPv6 addresses. The short-term storage of unshortened IP addresses serves solely the purpose of ensuring our system's security and integrity.
Links to external websites
Our service may contain links to external websites provided by third parties. When you open such a link, your browser will connect to the linked website in order to load and display it. During this process, data such as your IP address, information regarding your browser and the address of the page you're currently visiting (referrer URL) will be transmitted. The third party provider will be able to see that you reached his website by following a link from our service. We have no control over the collection or processing of personal data carried out by these third parties. For improved data protection, our server sends a special HTTP header that instructs your browser not to send the complete referrer URL, but only the protocol and the hostname (e.g. "https://www.example.org/" instead of "https://www.example.org/page-123"). Not all browsers support this. Special browser plugins may prevent your browser from sending the referrer URL altogether.
Contacting us
Our service offers you the opportunity to contact us, either by e-mail and/or by using a contact form. In such event, the information provided is stored for the purpose of enabling further communication with you.
Use of Google Fonts
We make use of web fonts provided by Google Fonts in order to reduce our server's load as well as the service's loading time and the amount of data traffic. Google Fonts is a service by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as "Google". For users from the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, 4, Ireland. When using our service, your browser requests fonts from a Google server that might be located in another country. During this request, data such as your IP address, information regarding your browser and the address of the page you're currently visiting will be transmitted, and cookies may be set. Further information regarding the use of your data and about Google Fonts can be found at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://fonts.google.com/about. For improved data protection, web fonts are embedded in a way that reduces the transmission of referrer URLs as far as possible, provided that your browser supports this feature.
